AMO Interview & review

Australian Music Online have recently published a stunning interview with Paulini where she talks about her music, philosophy and the Oz music scene.

This interview is probably the best I've seen and truly demonstrates how much she has matured since we first met her 3 or 4 years ago.

I have only published the first few lines here, out of respect for the original copyright owners. Follow the link to their site to read the rest – it's well worth it.

They've also written a great review of Paulini's upcoming album Superwoman, on the same website. You can read it HERE .

Here's the start of the interview.

When did you decide that you wanted to be a musician and/or songwriter? How did you start going about it?

The first time I picked up a microphone at church! Music has always been embedded in my culture and with my family (we all sing!). Music is the reason I get up in the morning.I tried to grab every opportunity that presented itself to showcase my voice (school contests, talent shows/etc) and just tried to have fun with it and always stay focused on the journey!

Aretha Franklin once said in an interview to love and be true to the music and not yourself in the music. Love the art and not yourself in the art. I try to focus on the music from a true place and concentrate on what I love most – singing!
