Sizzling!! - from Adelaidenow.com.au

A MUCH fitter Paulini is back. In 2003, Paulini became a household name thanks to Australian Idol, and in particular after Ian Dickson told her to “dress more appropriately or shed some pounds” after she wore a less-than-flattering gold dress.

After all these years, she is attempting a comeback and has just released a new song called Fireman.

The singer said she had only fond memories of the whole Idol experience and now, looking back, perhaps the comments from Dicko were a blessing in disguise.

“I guess when I was on Idol, all the stuff about being healthy and looking after yourself, I didn’t think it really mattered,” she said.

“I didn’t think that was part of the whole experience.

“But now I’ve been in the business a few years, I realise you do have to be healthy.”

The last time Paulini released music was three years ago with the Young Divas alongside, first, Ricki-Lee Coulter, Emily Williams and Kate DeAraugo, and, later, Jessica Mauboy.

The girls broke up after two albums. “I learnt a lot from the Young Divas,” Paulini said. “I think when you’re on tour with three other girls, there are lots of ups and downs but we all loved one thing and that was creating music.”

A fit-looking Paulini will perform Fireman at Love Machine in Prahan tonight.

More pics!

Here’s a couple more pics from the video shoot her management sent me today.

They also let me have a sneak “peek” at a snippet of her new track – Fireman. It was very short but I can tell you it’s not like anything she’s done before!!

This could be a winner :)

Sorry – I really can’t share. As soon as I can I’ll do it I promise.

Meanwhile look at the pretty boys….. I mean pictures.

Paulini Launches New Single – Fireman

I’ll get to the single in a minute. Let’s just set the scene!

A couple of days ago TWO amazing things happened.

First, Paulini responded to a tweet I sent her. And not just once but TWICE! I have never seen her do that before.

But before I could recover from the shock of Paulini using twitter the way the Goddess of  the Twitterverse intended, another amazing  “thing” happened.

I recieved an email from…………… tadadada dada daaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!……….. her new management “team” – Momentom Management! All keen to get involved with her fansite and fans and stuff.

We shall see how long that lasts :)

But in the meantime they sent me information!!! And a pic!!

We have a lot of new amazing material that Paulini has been working on, and as I’m sure you have heard Paulini has a new single coming out this month called ‘Fireman’ which we are so excited about and can’t wait to release for the world to hear.

Paulini’s new single … will be hitting radio airwaves first week of February – as you may have seen she was featured in the Sunday Telegraph last weekend showcasing her upcoming single – lots more to come!

I have attached a sneak peek pic of Paulini behind the scenes at the ‘Fireman’ shoot…very exciting!!

And here’s the picture!! (hint – click on the picture!!)

Sexy!

Paulini’s new song. But….

New music from Paulini!

The other day Paulini tweeted this message:

Paulini Curuenavuli

@PauliniC Paulini Curuenavuli
Hey hey wildboys single”Touching a stranger” which I co-wrote and sung is out now on itunes,Get it into ya, Lol. Xo.

14 Apr via Mobile Web Favorite

She didn’t give a link so I went searching and – with some difficulty – found the video of the track she’s talking about. It’s Wildboyz with a Z LOL

Here’s the official video of a band called Wild Boyz performing her song. The wierd thing is that it’s Paulini’s vocals you can hear but some other chick pretending to sing it. There she is in the image below … I have no idea who she is or what she’s doing there or why she isn’t embarassed to be miming to someone else’s vocals and pretending it’s her.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqP1a3CcwlM

If you do a search for this song you’ll find people talking about “Wild Boyz featuring Ameerah” (Ameerah has sung on other tracks) when in fact the song features Paulini’s vocals.

Picture of Paulini from Scarless video

I don’t really understand this. Why would Paulini willingly let some other woman pretend to be singing?

Anyway – good song. And as Paulini said – you can buy it at I-Tunes but I don’t know if I want to given that she isn’t acknowledged as the singer. I know she still gets royalties for writing the song (more than the imposter vocalist does) but still, it just seems wrong.

If Paulini or anyone from her management ever bother to come here it would be nice to hear from you and get an explanation of all this.

Paulini in her first acting role!!

Paulini in her role as a sister! From the Daily Telegraph

PAULINI Curuenavuli has adopted a positive habit, literally, as the former Australian Idol singer moves into acting with a strong small-screen debut in Sisters Of War.

Curuenavuli last week wrapped filming on the ABC telemovie, which explores the stoic nature of Australian and Papua New Guinean nuns as the WWII conflict came to the island.

The film also features Claire van der Boom and Susie Porter.

As this sneak-peek image shows (see right), Curuenavuli has come a long way from Idol and that gold dress. “It was certainly a change for me. You put it [the habit] on and it really helps you get into character, so that was amazing, as was learning about how nuns live their lives and their intense dedication,” Curuenavuli said.

Although she raved about the acting experience, music remains Curuenavuli’s “first love”. She hopes to release a new album later this year. “I’ve also been auditioning for musical theatre and am really keen to get into that world. As for acting, I didn’t expect to get this, but if another beautiful and strong role like this comes up, I’ll definitely go for it.”

Listen to Paulini And Ronan’s duet!

Well, I really did think our talented girl had totally sunk into obscurity but it seems she’s been doing something at least.

From Paulini’s official site.

Paulini features in the first single ‘Believe Again’ from Ronan Keating’s highly anticipated “Duet” album. ‘Believe Again’ was serviced to Australian radio today, 25 October, and will be released on November 5″.

The rest of the article on her official site is really a promotion for Ronan’s new album.

The song, like all of Ronan’s album, is only due for release in Australia and New Zealand. I don’t really get that. This is the age of the internet. Why not just release it to the world as a download. *shakes head and rolls eyes*.

Elsewhere I uncovered bits of information about the song. It was originally written by Ronan for a Danish guy for the 2009 Eurovision contest.

Last year in Moscow the Danish entry performed by (Niels) Brinck ended 13th in the final, which is respectable but not exactly winning.
Believe Again scored a #1 hit in Denmark and got a platinum award. It also spent 2 weeks on the Swedish charts reaching # 44.
Who knows what could have been if there had been a proper release in Europe.
But almost a year later Believe Again is a winner at Eurocovers with the most successful coverversions of the year.

I had a listen to the Eurovision version. Cant say I’m excited but I’ll hope for the best.

For the lyric fiends amongst you here’s the words and stuff – I guess they’ll do a sort of  “verse each” thing and then unite in the chorus or sommat :)

Believe again

You made it so easy to fall
I could not stand at all
I saw you beside me
You never saw me there at all

I promised you all this
I made plans thinking this was it
I never imagined I’d find you
Lose myself instead

I never had a picture of an end

And I… I wanna believe in love
I wanna believe in something bigger
Than the two of us, yeah…
I… I wanna breathe again
I wanna go back to the days
The days I had my innocence
I wanna believe again

I picked up the pieces
And put them back where they belong
But something is missing
Though I look the same, I’m not that strong
But I’m gonna learn to trust again

And I… I wanna believe in love
I wanna believe in something bigger
Than the two of us (The two of us)
And I… I wanna breathe again
I wanna go back to the days
The days I had my innocence
I wanna believe again

For without love, what do we become?
I never had a picture of an end

And I… I wanna believe in love
I wanna believe in something bigger
Than the two of us (The two of us)
I… I wanna breathe again
I wanna believe
I wanna believe
I wanna believe again

Paulini’s new Official website!

Hello there!!!

Seems our lovely girl is still out there doing things and finally something concrete has happened.

publicity shot of Paulini

From RPM - Paulini

Just received an email from RPM, Paulini’s new Indie mob. Apparently they have re-launched her official website.

Go see!! Go see!!

www.paulini.com.au

There is info about her singles, including her latest,  Scarless and links to her other online doodads as well as videos and news. Looks pretty kewl!

Let’s hope this one is more responsive and friendly to her fans than the first time round!

First 2009 News Update from RPM

There isn’t a lot to report at this stage, but I thought you all might like to know what little I know about what Paulini’s up to at the moment.

From RPM this brief update:

We have no new gigs to announce as yet but Paulini is still writing busily! She has just finished a track with Michael Szumowski and is doing some more work with Thahn Bui at Yin Yang Productions. Then she has much more writing to come.

We’d really like to get a single out in second quarter of year and album mid to 3rd quarter.

I’ll keep you posted!

Oh and as for the Usher rumour that keeps surfacing: RPM have stated in no uncertain terms that this is not true (although we all wish it was!).

So whoever the lovely fan is that keeps posting on Wikipedia that she is working on a track with Usher, please stop doing it! :) Much as I love seeing it written there, sadly it just isn’t true.

Like I’ve always said – DON’T always trust what you read on Wikipedia!!!

Doin’ it for the kids!

Here’s a bit of the old Christmas cheer for you!

A kindly newspaper has posted a video in YouTube (awww those journos are getting so ‘hip’ and ‘kewl’ these days) of Paulini paulkidsraspberry250.jpgentertaining kids in hospital and their families for Christmas in December last year.

She’s up on stage with the nurses all doing their bit and being completely silly.

For example! Here’s a pic of Paulini blowing a raspberry with her lips!

And below you’ll see a couple of pictures of Miss P having a “Good Time”!!! So nice to see her laughing and having fun!

Of course if you watch the video you’ll get to see her singing too. Even though she (and everyone else) does forget the words to Jingle Bells.

Hmmm… oh no! What comes after “Bells on bobtails ring, making spirits light…. what …er… mumble hmm hmm la la la …. a sleighing song tonight! Hey!”

But doesn’t she look so gosh-darned cute!!!

Oh where can you see this delightfully silly vid??? – you ask.

Why right here: Delightfully silly video link
