Fiji’s own Idol

AUSTRALIA

On a recent trip to Fiji, I purchased a copy of the official CD for the 2003 South Pacific Games, “The Pacific at its best!”

The first song on the album, ‘Many Rhythms … One love” is sung by Fiji’s own, Paulini Curuenavuli.

I am very proud to announce that Paulini is a contestant on ‘Australian Idol.’

Australia is currently hosting a major talent quest, simply titled “Australian Idol.”
Over the past few weeks, we have seen scores of contestants eliminated by three prominent judges.

Some have left the stage crying, begging for a second chance. Others have argued in anger at the decision against them, while some simply walk off stage accepting defeat ? meaning that it just wasn?t their time for fame and stardom.

Paulini has made it into the final 40 from hundreds of contestants. Over the next few weeks, performers will be given the chance to show the judges and the Australian public just what it is they can do whilst on stage.

Paulini, 20, came to Australia at the tender age of four, and now resides in Sydney with her family. She performs regularly around town with her band, Mixx.

With the help of the general public placing their votes via telephone and SMS texts, we will see Australia?s first ? Idol?.

Some of the other contestants featured are talents from Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and off course home grown, Down Under.

Paulini is truly a joy to listen to when performing. If you haven’t already heard her and accompanying artists on the SPG CD, what are you waiting for??

It certainly is money worth spent when you hear the tracks of that album. We should all be proud at having such talent in our Pacific Island nation.

I will keep you posted on Paulini?s progress on ?Australian Idol?.
