Don’t miss the exclusive interview with Paulini on the Channel Ten news tonight, Tuesday, June 15, when Angela Bishop gets the scoop on all the action taking place on the set of Paulini’s first video for her debut single ‘Angel Eyes’, being filmed at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney today.
Hundreds of calls flooded Sony Music last week following annoucements made on this website and on 2Day FM requesting fans to take part as extras in the film clip. In a case of art imitating life, the video follows the storyline of a rising young star, hitting the stage to perform and live out her dreams, with real Paulini fans making up the audience.
‘Angel Eyes’, which hits stores on Monday, July 5, is a cover of Jeff Healey’s 1988 classic blues-rock hit, that also appeared in the 1989 flick ‘Roadhouse, starring Patrick Swazye. Give a complete makeover, the track is now a lush, organic ballad featuring rolling keys and Paulini’s breathtaking, soaring vocals. The track is already receiving a sensational response at radio, and was Music Network’s Premier Pick this week:
“Making her anticipated solo debut this week is Paulini, Australian Idol favourite and without doubt owner of one of the strongest voices in pop. Angel Eyes is a cover of the Jeff Healey hit but listening to Paulini’s delivery it’s hard to believe she hasn’t been singing this her entire life. Simple arrangements keep her powerhouse vocal at the forefront of the mix and she truly leads the song, injecting it with a passion and conviction that will ensure it passes no listener unnoticed. Captivating melodies come to a head with a soaring climax that will have you hooked,” Music Network
